The Club has had an unbroken association with Winchester College www.winchestercollege.org for over 80 years.
From the initial inspiration and involvement of the Llewellyn Smiths, the Club progressed in the 1940’s due to the financial support of the Winchester College Mission.
The Mission’s funds in turn have been subsumed in the present day Wykeham Crown and Manor Trust, under professional management; its trustees are successive generations of Wykehamists.
It is a strong and enduring connection, and indeed Winchester College is one of the great public schools still to maintain an involvement with an organization of this sort, supporting boys and young men from such a different environment.
The Executive Committee is convened to deal with the everyday requirements of the Club.
It consists of ten voluntary members who between them provide a wide range of skills to help the club – ranging from an architect, a financier, a head teacher, youth club workers a representative from our Old Boys Association and last but not least, members of the staff who attend the meeting on a rotation basis.
This Committee meets every six weeks.
The Crown Council incorporates many of the members of the Executive Council but widens its range to include members who provide wider skills in the field of education, youth work, commerce and finance.
This Committee meets twice-yearly.
